My third trip to Amsterdam and Kevin's second, but our first during the winter. Enjoy some of our travel shots below.

Here we are on the train in from the airport.  Not bad for just having spent the night on a very uncomfortable airplane.

Aroma was a coffeeshop that we frequented. It had great coffee, great ambiance and great views of the passersby outside (no comments on the fashions..)

The Leidesplein is a high-traffic tourist area in the summer. On Christmas Day, however, not much is happening. Day and night shots below.

Nighttime fun with the new camera.

Something to research: Santas hanging outside of many homes...... Catburgler Santa?

Edward. An extremely nice bartender, formerly from Aruba, at Casa Maria. (Tip: go there about 30 minutes before closing...!)

The Hotel Kap and surroundings. Quiet residential neighborhood. We highly recommend it.

Getto is a restaurant/bar that we spent more than a little time in. We liked the decor, the eclectic food and beverage choices and the nacho-chip cat warmer.

The Kevin Mini-Gallery:

Various things that caught my eye around Amsterdam: (mouse over for brief narrations):

NOT a piece of trash one would expect in Amsterdam..

Think you would ever lose THIS piece of luggage on the carousel?

How do the Dutch stay so thin?

Truly, the only overweight thing we saw the entire trip.

A "protest" in favor of Michael Jackson..complete with petitions to "leave him alone."

No extra comments needed.
We took a side trip to Brussels were we met up with a few friends. Spent the short day walking around the Grand Plaza acting touristy.
